Small Business Program

Kisoboka

Ninety percent of Bakka families are subsistence farmers, living on what they grow. The cycle of poverty continues, as most cannot afford education for their children. Kisoboka offers grants to fund small businesses, requiring a business plan and attendance at small business training sessions. The business training session teaches them how to reinvest their income into the business, save for a rainy day, paying themselves and how to handle providing credit.

The business grants have been very successful. Women are able to provide for their families.  Children are being educated and are excited about their future filled with possibilities.

Challenge

The need for small business grants is evident. Women with limited opportunities are leaving their children to work abroad, often encountering situations where they do not receive pay and their passports are taken, without money or passports returning home is impossible. Many disappear without a trace. Some mothers resort to selling their bodies to raise money to support their children. Their options for providing for their families are very limited.

How You Can Help...

Consider investing in a small business #investinwomen #hearhercry.  A one-time tax-deductible donation will bring a lifetime of hope to an entire family for generations to come.

Investing in women’s small businesses helps them escape poverty and provides dignified alternatives for supporting their families. It also empowers women beyond traditional roles tied to their fathers and husbands.

Amount Needed: $1,000 Per Business Grant
