Child Sponsorship

Sponsoring a child costs $35 a month. $420 per year

It allows children to attend the best schools in the district, and ensures they have a meal every day. Their family has health care. It gives them access to many resources, including social workers, midwives, doctors, counselors, physical therapists, and even legal support if abused.

Students are given the key to raising themselves and their families out of poverty,  an education. Those who don’t pass their high school exams can still get training in a trade such as tailoring or hairdressing or auto mechanics.

A sponsored student Sam talks about Kisoboka

“I found a family—a loving family—Kisoboka where you can reach out and feel that everything is extremely safe, where you can easily share your ideas and be advised accordingly, and where you also gain back that sense of humor.”

Sam has been sponsored since he was in the 3rd grade.  He is now attending University enrolled in a Surgical program.

Challenge

There is a desperate need for sponsors.  Most of the Bakka community are single mother they live on what they grow. They can’t afford the cost of sending a child to school.  Children are often passed around to relative and used to work in gardens giving them little hope to break the cycle of poverty.
