The staff motto is to treat everyone with respect. The Medical Team, Social Workers, and Crisis Counselors assess community needs by collaborating with village chairpersons and leaders. These leaders provided a comprehensive list of urgent requirements in 2014, including boreholes (wells), a high school, a medical center, and elder care.
Subsequently, nine wells, a high school, and a medical center were established, in addition to the existing primary school. Elderly care involves visiting senior citizens to supply food and medical assistance. Outreach and educational initiatives include medical fairs where patients are tested and treated. Additionally, human rights awareness training and support are provided within the community.
The village of Bakka is still deep into witchdoctors. It is what they know, there are 7 dead kings buried in Bakka there is no spirit more powerful than the spirit of a King. Child sacrifice still happens to solve disputes, cure AIDs, provide money, break curses.
In their culture women and children are property of their father/husband. Many men have multiple wives, many have more children than they can keep track of. The more children the higher status they have.
Educating girls is not valued because their purpose is to be married and have children. Early marriage happens so the father can receive the dowry. Disable children are considered a curse kept in the back of the house
Educating and changing a culture is slow and challenging.
